  • In AB Groundforces, Aerial reconnaissance and ground target engagement by airplanes was 2016 - 2023.
  • Now since 2023-08 , fighters don't get indication of ground targets by red and blue markers :-(.

ASUS Eee PC T101MT, WT in DirectX Mode
  • On my webbook “ASUS Eee PC T101MT” with integrated graphics card, Win10, WarThunder quits after the configuration by the error message
    The game is running on videocard without DirectX 10 or higher hardware support, and can have stability and performance issues. It is not officially supported.

    Some video options are not supported by your video card. If you have two video cards installed on your computer, try switching cards. 
Shader version 3.0 is not supported [81110001]

Lack of RAM Memory
  • When running WT on a Win10 computer with 4 GB RAM, it crashes when starting a vehicle from the main battle menu, by the error message
    Not enough available memory. Close other applications to free memory for the gme. {[8111004}

  • Showing / hiding of the ammunition dashboard for Tanks ( “1-2-3-V-5-6-0-AKUT” ) = ”-”.
  • This setting is somehow coupled to the layout “Keyboard and mouse only ( simple )”, “Keyboard and mouse only ( advanced )”.
  • If you hide the ammunition dashboard in mode “Keyboard and mouse only ( simple )”, “Keyboard and mouse only ( advanced )”.
    • If you then select one of the modes “Xbox Controller, keyboard and mouse” or “Xbox Controller, keyboard and mouse ( mouse aim )”, the ammunition dashboard is still visible.
    • If you then select one of the modes “Keyboard and mouse only ( simple )”, “Keyboard and mouse only ( advanced ), the ammunition dashboard is invisble again.
    • Just by pressing ”-” you make the ammunition dashboard visible, permanently.

General tips

  • War Thunder - Official Forum "From Win8.1 to Win10 today: Mouse+Keyboard User Interface changes?".
  • As of 2016-07-26, I must change the default configuration to set it to the state of pre-2016-07-26:
    • I just called the “control setup wizzard” twice and selected the controller layout “keyboard and mouse only (simple)” both for “air” and “ground”.... best practice is first to set “keyboard and mouse only (advanced)” and then “keyboard and mouse only (simple)”.
    • The resulting properly working settings:
      • “Ground vehicles”.
        • “Sniper mode”: “UMSCHALT”, “UMSCHALT RECHTS”.
      • “Common”.
        • “View Controls”.
          • “Zoom Camera”: “RMB”, “Y” ( was: “RMB”. Assign button “Y”, additionally ).
      • “Tank control / Mouse aim”.
        • Zoom Camera: — ( default setting ).
        • Tank: Target tracking: — ( was: “RMB”. Press the button “Remove Bindings” ).

Keyboard and Mouse only

  • Keyboard keys.
    • Keyboard keys of aiplanes:
      • SPACE = Bombs dropping.
      • CTRL = Rockets.
      • Mouse-Righclick = Machinegun / machine cannon.
    • Keyboard keys of both ground vehiceles and airplanes:
      • C, KOMMA(ZEHNERTASTATUR) = Round view. Less important for ground vehicles, totally important for airplanes.

  • Change .the settings of “Common Control”.

  • The default directory for WT control settings is “C:\users\<user>\Documents\My Games\WarThunder\Saves” with Unix-like separator ”/” in the in-game menu to save and load control settings. Be shure to give files you want to save, the file extension “blk”, e.g. “impect_controller.blk”.
