    • Swimming pool hall “Hallenbad Ahlen” ( 1958 - 1989 ) - Permanently closed and scrapped.

      • The swimming pool hall, on 2 floors, was for leasure and fun swimming.

      • Icerink ( 1998-2012 ). The wooden house behind the swimming pool hall was the kiosk for the icerink.
      • I was told by staff members, that the swimming pool hall was scrapped after 20 years, as the number of visitors decreased, due to change in usage behavior. Just the Sauna was sucessful in the last few years.

          • The special foot cleaning and foot disinfection armature ( “Fuss-Desinfektion” ), labeled with a plate with a graphical icon, a former standard in swimming pool halls built in the 1960th and 1970th, is operable ! :-).
          • There are 4 classical beach chairs ( “Strandkorb” ).
        • Textile Finnland Sauna in the form of a barrel ( “Fasssauna” ) and steam Sauna ( Dampfbad” ). Extra fee, but situated in the main swimming pool hall and freely accessible.
          • I served as complimentary Sauna infusion master :-), as Sauna infusions are self-service.
            • There is a wooden Sauna tub + Sauna spoon available for the Finnland Sauna. If it is missing, please ask the staff to fill it with water and some Sauna infusion flavour, and hand it to you.
            • Additionally there is a small metal tub above the oven. If it is filled with water with some Sauna infusion flavour, you might turn the metal tub to put water on the stone. But be warned, don´t turn the metal tab with your hand, you would burn your hand, as the metal tub is ulta-heated by the oven!!!
          • As the Sauna rooms textile Saunas, you must enter it with clothes.
          • It's ok if you wear bathing sandals. It is not necessary or usual to put a towel under the feets.
          • For the Finnland Sauna, a very large towel is best, as you can lay the towel round a sort of clothesline at the seat back, so that you don´t put your back directly on the wooden seat back.
          • There is a clock and sandclock for the Finnland Sauna :-). There is no clock for the steam Sauna :-(.
          • There are 2 special Sauna showers in the steam Sauna department.
          • There is no Sauna dip tank :-(.
          • There is no ice fountain :-(.
          • The Finnland Sauna is transfered to the outdoor swimming pool during the Summer season ( did not happen in Summer 2020 & 2021, but was in Summer 2022 )!

          • You must buy a metal coin for 3.40 EUR, for 15min use of the Infrared Sauna cabin. Indeed I got the metal coin as gift, by the cashier at the entrance :-).
          • There is no clock for the infrared Sauna, but there is an automatic timer which shuts down the infrared heaters after 15min.

      • Check the wardrobe if it is linked with small safe, with same key. Indication is the plate “Wertfach ist vorhanden”.
